Mental health and the social bond in Morocco
As part of its study program “The social bond in Morocco”, IRES organized on May 19th, 2010, a study day on “Mental health and the social bond in Morocco”.
During this study day, Professor Nadia KADRI, head of research laboratory "Mental Health, Cognition and Psychopathology" at Hassan II University, Casablanca, and Professor Driss MOUSSAOUI, chief doctor of Ibn Rochd Psychiatric University Centre, presented the results of the study "Moroccan national study on prevalence of mental disorders: a community based epidemiological study" .
A panel of experts from different scientific disciplines (psychology, sociology, economics, political sciences, etc.) took part to the debate session which was dedicated to the determinants of the state of mental health in Morocco, its social and economic costs and the required public policy orientations to tackle this issue.
