Crans Montana Forum : “Africa and South-South cooperation”
 

 

IRES’ Director General, Mr. Mohammed Tawfik Mouline, took part in the Crans Montana Forum on the theme: "Africa and South-South cooperation", held in Brussels from 19 to 22 March 2014. On this occasion, the Director General of the Institute was awarded the Forum gold medal, distinction awarded to exceptional personalities for their actions in favor of a human world.

During the Forum, Mr. Mohammed Tawfik MOULINE chaired the session on the governance of natural resources in Africa, attended by mining and hydrocarbons ministers and senior officials representing some African countries as well as by representatives of some international organizations, mainly the International Financial Corporation (World Bank Group) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD- Department of Africa).

This session was devoted to the examination of the mode of exploitation of natural resources in Africa, the effectiveness of regional and international initiatives in place to promote transparent management of these resources and the types of alliances that African countries should establish with emerging countries, as part of a transparent and efficient management, contributing to the overall development of these countries.
