The Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) participated, as a partner, in the first session of the videoconference of the second edition of the international meeting "Africa XXI", organized on December 3, 2020 by the Institute for Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL).

This videoconference, in which several Ambassadors accredited to Portugal, senior representatives of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international organizations and African and European Think Tanks, as well as academic experts, took part, was an opportunity for IRES to present his vision of the future of Africa-Morocco-Europe relations.

Mr. MOULINE's intervention highlighted the multiple complementarities between Africa and Europe and the common challenges facing the two continents. It also focused on the levers able to mobilize the potential of cooperation between the two continents, in accordance with the axes defined by the African Strategy of the European Union, presented in March 2020. The Director General of the IRES then presented some aspects of the Moroccan experience in the areas mentioned by this Strategy, namely, the green transition and access to energy, the digital transition, economic and social development, peace and governance as well as migration and mobility. He deduced the Kingdom’s potential contribution to cooperation between Africa and Europe.
