How to make Morocco a regional hub in the field of research and innovation ?
As part of its mission of carrying out studies on structural issues of significant impact on Morocco’s international positioning, IRES organized April 24, 2014, a seminar of presentation and discussion of the preliminary findings of the first phase of the study on the theme: " How to make Morocco a regional hub in the field of research and innovation ? " .
The seminar, attended by senior officials from relevant public and private institutions and academic experts, highlighted strengths and weaknesses of the system of innovation in Morocco and the available potential that the country could grasp in order to emerge as a regional hub on this field subject, with reference to some successful international experiences.
The discussions held at the seminar focused on the need to strengthen coordination between actors involved in the field of research and innovation, the importance to establish an appropriate incentive system so as to accelerate the development of a pool of skills within academic centers and to enhance the emergence of innovative firms, as well as the necessity for Morocco to mobilize its network of partnership and to use it as a lever to strengthen its attractiveness for innovative investment projects.
