  • Morocco and the euro zone crisis : issues and public policy options

Within the framework of its permanent mission of strategic watch and its program "global competitiveness and Morocco positioning in the globalized system," IRES organized on  October 24th, 2012, a seminar devoted to the discussion of the provisional report of the study entitled "Morocco and the euro zone crisis : issues and public policy options".

The seminar has focused on scenarios related to possible developments in Europe and the issues they raise for Morocco, the measure of the euro zone crisis effects on some aggregate balance of payments and the assessment of its impact on the banking sector and public finances. The debate emphasized on the identification of appropriate public policies to address direct and indirect effects of the crisis of the euro zone on Morocco in order to allow the country  to strengthen its resilience to exogenous shocks and ensure, ultimately, its economic and financial stability.
