Context / TOWARDS A NEW POST-COVID-19 WORLD
The year 2020 will be remembered globally as the year of the eruption of the global Covid-19 pandemic, which led to unprecedented lockdown.
Although less deadly than the Spanish flu and the previous Asian epidemics, the Covid-19 pandemic has, however, had a systemic impact that has been unparalleled, both in the short term with the closure of borders, the slowdown of the global economy, the collapse of critical economic sectors (tourism, automotive, aeronautics…), and in the medium term with the economic and financial crises, the worsening of inequalities, the rise of unemployment, etc.
This unprecedented situation has revealed dysfunctions, revealed fragilities, increased certain perceptions (ecological and social) and accentuated the need for anticipation and questioning.
Through the Strategic Report “Towards a new post-Covid-19 world”, IRES has undertaken an in-depth reflection in order to understand the issues at stake, to decipher the sustainable changes to come and to propose new orientations capable of increasing the resilience of the systems and of modifying the operating models in a “post-Covid world”.
Abstract
