The Cannabis plant (Cannabis sativa L.), a member of the Cannabaceae family, is native to Central Asia and widely cultivated in other regions such as Canada, the United States and Africa[i]. This plant contains a psychoactive substance, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), as well as other similar compounds. These substances are usually consumed by inhalation, ingestion, drinking or vaporized inhalation for recreational and medicinal purposes, due to their psychoactive effects.
