Green hydrogen: challenges and prospects for Morocco
On October 18, 2023, the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) organized a "Journée de réflexion prospective" on the theme "Green hydrogen: challenges and prospects for Morocco".
The event, attended by representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as experts in the field of renewable energies, provided an ideal opportunity to take stock of the international development of the "green hydrogen" sector, and to review the state of the art in terms of technology at the national level. It also explored the medium- and long-term opportunities for Morocco, as well as the possible risks. Finally, based on the potential uses of green hydrogen, it assessed the impact of deploying this sector on Morocco's energy transition and its role in decarbonizing the national economy.
