On July 2, 2024, the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) organized a day of prospective reflection on the Royal Initiative for Atlantic Africa. Bringing together a select panel of international, African, and Moroccan experts and representatives of national institutions, this meeting, which took place under the confidentiality rules of Chatham House, aimed to understand the Royal Initiative for the Atlantic, its place in world geopolitics, its foundations, and its repercussions on the African states bordering the Atlantic and on the Sahel countries, as well as to identify the challenges inherent in putting this initiative into practice. The discussions resulted in a wealth of ideas on the prerequisites and levers of action for implementing the Royal Initiative for Atlantic Africa.
