  • Morocco-South America relations : progress and prospects of reinforcement

Under the new guidelines contained in the Royal Message addressed, August 30, 2013, to the first Conference of Ambassadors, inviting IRES to devote its efforts to the diplomatic field and various issues of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, the Institute held  November 13, 2013 a seminar on the theme " Morocco-South America relations : progress and prospects of reinforcement " attended by several ambassadors accredited to Morocco, representing Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru as well as Moroccan diplomats, public and private national actors and experts of international issues.

The seminar emphasize the strengths and weaknesses of Morocco’s cooperation with South American countries at bilateral and multilateral level as well as the prospects of their strengthening with view to the challenges facing the two sides. Other relevant aspects were discussed in depth, including the importance to expand the spectrum of cooperation between Morocco and South America countries to key dimensions, such as technical cooperation, issues related to human development and human-cultural exchanges. Furthermore, both parties would gain mutually by encouraging alliances between their respective private groups in order to mobilize trade and investment opportunities within the African continent.
