Morocco-Turkey relations : development prospects in the light of regional and international mutations
As part of his study project on "International Relations of Morocco", part of the general program "Global competitiveness and positioning of Morocco in globalized system", IRES organised on January 20, 2011 a study day tackling the issue of "Morocco-Turkey relations: what building potential considering the regional and international changes?".
Hosted by His Excellency Mr. Tunç ÜĞDÜL, Turkish Ambassador to Morocco, attended by Mr. Mohammed Tawfik MOULINE, Director General of IRES, and a panel of senior public sector officials, academics and representatives of business under the two countries, this study day was devoted to the presentation of the specific model of development of Turkey, a review of the turkish experience in adopting the acquis communautaire and the examining of various facets of relations between Morocco and Turkey into a strategic perspective.
The debate at the event was focused on identifying potential areas able to deepen Morocco-Turkey bilateral cooperation, and the levers necessary for their implementation. Other important aspects, among others, the weight of Turkey in the international geopolitical balances were reviewed in depth.
