H. E. Mr. Yaroslav KOVAL, Ambassador of Ukraine to Morocco facilitated, June 10th, 2013, a conference on the theme "Morocco-Ukraine relations: progress and prospects" within the framework of IRES Debate Cycle on Morocco’s international relations.

At this conference, which was attended by experts of economic and geopolitical issues and representatives of some ministerial departments, the focus was made on the progress achieved in terms of improving cooperation between Morocco and Ukraine during the last decade, both at the bilateral and multilateral scales, and the necessary levers to strengthen them, especially at the economic, cultural and scientific. The conference was also an opportunity to review the experience of Ukraine's rapprochement with the European Union and to discuss the challenges raised in this matter.

Other aspects were discussed in depth, some of which are the key role that should be played by private sector of both countries in order to boost trading relations, the importance to strengthen cultural exchanges to create basis for enhanced bilateral relations as well as the opportunity to promote tourism flows from Ukraine and bring them, at least, to similar level achieved with some Eastern Europe country.
