Morocco-United Kingdom relations: reality and prospects for development in the light of Brexit
On April 21, 2017, IRES organized a seminar devoted to the discussion of the preliminary conclusions of the study entitled "Morocco-United Kingdom relations: reality and prospects for development in the light of Brexit"
Attended by a panel of diplomats, public and private actors as well as academic experts, the seminar highlighted the multidimensional diagnosis of bilateral relations, the assessment of the direct and indirect impacts of the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union on Morocco, and the proposal of some policy levers that could enable Morocco to mobilize the potential of its partnership with the United Kingdom, both during the negotiation process of the Brexit and in the post-Brexit phase.
Other aspects were discussed, including the importance of promoting cooperation between the two countries in high value-added sectors, the opportunity to extend the scope of cooperation to geographical areas of interest and the need to encourage the link between non-governmental actors from both sides to strengthen mutual understanding and to establish a strong and enduring partnership.
