As part of its study program "Climate change : impacts on Morocco and adaptation options overall", the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) held on July 26, 2012 at its headquarters, a study day on the theme "Political dimensions of climate change in Morocco," which was moderated by Prof. Moulay Ahmed Iraqi, former environment minister, and attended by Moroccan experts in this field.

The discussion focused on several aspects including the levers needed to integrate environmental considerations into public policy, foster the sharing of climate information and combine efforts of different stakeholders. Other issues were discussed. This is, among other things, the interest granted to international political issues and climate change issues, the importance of measures taken to limit its negative effects at national and directions for adaptation or mitigation that could reduce vulnerabilities that induced in the strategic resources.
