As part of its strategic watch  mission and its study program "Global competitiveness and positioning of Morocco in the globalized system", IRES held on May 9, 2012, a conference debate facilitated by Mr. Rafaâ Ben Achour, Ambassador of Tunisia to Morocco, on the theme : Tunisia: one year after the" Arab Spring ".

During this conference, which was attended by national and foreign experts, emphasis was made on the conditions that were behind the "Jasmine Revolution", the recent political, institutional, economic and social situation one year after the upheaval of the old regime as well as endogenous and exogenous uncertainties surrounding the democratic transition in Tunisia.

Other important topics were discussed such as the prospects of Morocco-Tunisia relations in the light of new geopolitical realities, the potential role of the two countries in terms of reviving the Arab Maghreb Union and the opportunity to strengthen their coordination on key issue related to the euro-Mediterranean integration.
