The Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) participated in the 12th edition of the Arab Thought and Culture Forum, held on October 10, 2024, in Abu Dhabi. The forum was jointly organized by the Office of His Excellency Dr. Jamal SANAD AL SUWAIDI, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirati Center for Strategic Studies, Al Ayam, Bahrain's leading liberal daily newspaper, and the General Secretariat of the Coalition of Arab Research and Culture Centers.

During this meeting, which focused on the theme "National Identity: Roles and Challenges," Mr. Mohammed Tawfik MOULINE, Director General of the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES), delivered a presentation highlighting the challenges posed by media globalization and its impact on culture, values, identity, and patriotism in the Arab world. He proposed several recommendations to enable Arab countries to address the repercussions of the exacerbation of this media globalization, by finding a balance that promotes the cultural enrichment of their populations without compromising national identities and values.
