Cancun, Mexico, November 29 to December 10, 2010

The Royal Institute for Strategic Studies participated at the 16th conference of the Parties of the United Nations framework convention on climate change (COP16), held in Cancun (Mexico) from November 29th to December 10th, 2010.

IRES made a presentation at Morocco’s Side Event on "Safeguarding and Development of oasis: a national challenge of a regional and international scope " which was presented by Mr. Tarek CHBOURK, Project Manager at IRES.

This communication helped to support the call made by Morocco for an international alliance aimed at protecting the oases and promoting the heritage practices of its local populations as a model of sustainable development to tackle the climate crisis.
