Food security: challenges and perspectives for Africa

On May 24, 2023, the Institut Royal des Etudes Stratégiques (IRES) hosted a forward-thinking event titled "Reflective Day of Prospects," focusing on the topic of "Food security: challenges and perspectives for Africa."

By convening representatives from African think tanks, the objective of this gathering was to delve deeper into the issue of food security in Africa, while anticipating the transformation of African agriculture in a world characterized by vulnerability, uncertainty, criticality, and artificiality.

Through strategic dialogues, several innovative ideas emerged, employing a collaborative approach to enhance food security in Africa. The aim was to establish a governance framework capable of ensuring the continent's long-term food sovereignty.
