The contribution of ASEAN to the regional construction of the East Asia: a potential partnership in Africa
His Excellency Mr. Hassan WIRAJUDA, Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia facilitated a panel discussion at the Royal Institute of Strategic Studies, on the theme "The contribution of ASEAN to the regional construction of the East Asia: a potential partnership in Africa ", on May 23, 2018. The conference was attended by His Excellency Dr. ED Syarief SYAMSURI, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Morocco, accompanied by an Indonesian delegation and by several personalities from the diplomatic and academic world.
The conference shed light on the situation and the future of ASEAN as well as its operating methods. Many issues were discussed, relating to the ongoing integration process under the aegis of ASEAN as well as the relationship of this community with external powers, including China. The relations of ASEAN, in general, and of Indonesia, in particular, with Africa were discussed.
