Future of Relations Between Morocco and BRICS+ Countries
The Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) organized a seminar on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the main findings of its study entitled "What Relations for Morocco with the Expanded BRICS Group?".
Bringing together a panel of Ambassadors and high-ranking representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Rabat, members of this Group, national diplomats, public and private decision-makers, as well as experts in international affairs, this meeting provided an excellent opportunity to understand the future prospects of the countries of this Group and the impact it could have on the evolution of the emerging world order. It allowed for an assessment of the strategic relations established by the Kingdom with several countries of this group and an examination of the possibilities that arise in terms of Morocco's alliances with the expanded BRICS Group.
The discussions highlighted the need for Morocco and the countries of this Group to intensify their bilateral cooperation, particularly in promising sectors, and to reflect on the foundations of a Morocco-BRICS-Africa trilateral cooperation, particularly within the framework of the Royal Initiative for Atlantic Africa.
