Within the framework of the cooperation agreement, signed April 26, 2012 between the Ministry Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of Moroccans living abroad, the Council of Moroccan Community Abroad and the Royal Institute for Studies Strategies, on implementing cross-cutting and public policy related studies on migration issues, a study on the "National Strategy of emigration by 2022" was initiated. It aims to provide Morocco with a comprehensive and integrated vision on emigration, able to unite all the national actors working in this field.

To this end, a meeting was organized July 18, 2012 at the headquarters of IRES, to which took part national experts convened to contribute to the achievement of this strategic study. This meeting was an opportunity to present the general architecture of the study, foster collective ownership of its goals and discuss the methodological approach for its realization.

Also took part in the work of this meeting, members of the Monitoring Committee, representing the Ministry Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of Moroccans living abroad, the Council of Moroccan Community Abroad, the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies and the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad.

The closing session of the meeting, mainly dedicated to the presentation of main results of the exchanges that took place between experts and the fixing of next steps of the study, was chaired by Mr. Abdellatif MAAZOUZ, Minister Delegate to the Chief Government, in charge of Moroccans living abroad and Mr. Mohammed Tawfik Mouline, Director General of the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies.
