Accompanied by a high-level delegation, H.E.M GONG Xiaosheng, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue, paid a working visit to IRES on June 19, 2017. The discussions held with the Director General of the Institute, Mr. Mohammed Tawfik MOULINE, focused on recent developments of the situation in the MENA region and its prospects, in terms of the geo-political and geo-economic mutation. During this meeting, H.E.M GONG Xiaosheng, highlighted China's position on developments in the Middle East, focusing on political dialogue and economic partnership as levers for resolving conflicts and building cooperation on a sustainable basis.

Other aspects were discussed including the strategic priorities of Morocco in MENA region, and its contribution to the promotion of peace and security both regionally and internationally.

The meeting was attended by H.E.M SUN Shuzhong, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Said. MOUFTI, Director of Research at IRES and Mr Zakaria Abouddahab, associate researcher.
